Personal Narrative: "Better"
As a student photographer, most of my works are inspired by what I’m going through in my life. I showcase how I feel through colors, facial expressions, locations, etc. I selected the word “BETTER” for my personal narrative because of the mental changes I have been going through from the summer into the fall this year. I decided to do a self-portrait series for a change, since I am always taking portraits of everyone else. I used Black & White photos to convey the bad times in my life and Color photos to convey the transition into the good times in my life. I want the viewer to feel understanding and complete when they look at this series. Not only this work, but all of my works are important to me because I feel that photography is a way to cope with everything going on in life, as well as avoid it.

Midyear Assignment: Windows
My favorite photo out of all of these is Photo #5 of the garden house. Many leading lines, shapes, framing, and reflection are visible in this photo, making it a pleasure to look at. I used an ISO of 100, a White Balance of Cloudy, a ShutterSpeed of 1/100, and a Aperture of f/8. I feel as if this photo represents opportunity. There's so many different lines creating many different shapes almost as if they represent "windows of opportunity". The gloomy windows display ones emotion's before an opportunity comes upon them.
